The Mohawk Valley Blues Society is 501(c)3 Corporation founded in March 2005 by an enthusiastic group of area blues and roots music fans. The organization has grown to over nearly 150 members. The MVBS has presented the Mohawk Valley Region with it's first major blues festival in June of 2007 featuring Carl Weathersby, Jimmy Thackery, Sugar Norcia and many others. In addition to the festival the blues society has presented  concerts by the Holmes Brothers, C.J. Chenier, Coco Montoya, Duke Robillard with Jerry Portnoy, Smokin' Joe Kubek w/ Bnois King and Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials.
